KSA: one land, two worlds

I was born in Algeria but brought up in France. I am 52 and still have questions about my identity and origins. My camera helps me better understand the others and myself. That’s why wherever I go, I take portraits of locals and immigrants. In November 2019, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, touristic visa sees the light. Mohammed Ben Salman breaks with the era linked to Wahhabism & opens his country to not Muslim tourism. He wants to avoid falling into bankruptcy: The black gold lives its last days and he has to diversify the economy to give hope to the youth, to avoid an “Arab spring”. 70 % of KSAs population is under 30 and around 70% of active population is immigrant.

I witnessed the beginning of this historical and social transition. I wanted to show these people who live in the same land but in parallel worlds.
